APPRENTICESHIP
Companies today no longer require only theoretical know-how from employees but also have a need for practical skills .
When recruiting, these companies give priority to young professionals with practical experience .
Apprenticeship ensures advantages during your first job search, notwithstanding the fact that the company where you were apprenticed could become your first employer .
A different company approch
Apprenticeship is for :
- 4th and 5th year students who want to work on a professional project while continuing their studies ,
- Companies and organizations who wish to recruit an engineering apprentice to start new projects while training future managers .
A winner/winner situation
The apprenticeship employment contract includes alternating periods in school and in the company for two years .
This time frame allows for a good initiation period and a greater personal implication of the student in the company .
Apprenticeship has further advantages :
For the student :
- The opportunity to combine theory and practice and to acquire professional skills while learning know-how,
- The partial financial independence the wages provide.
For the company :
- The possibility of evaluating the would-be employee on site,
- A pro-active Human Resources management tool.
Speeding up carees
Apprentices have the same academic level as other students (same grade requirements for exams). Furthermore they have the added advantage of having specific classes based on their company experience which enables them to :
- To increase their understanding of the main management and organization principles (project management, career moves etc.),
- To pool their experiences so as to increase their knowledge and their know-how ,
- To acquire the professional reflexes this will make them ready for employment at graduation.
This training through apprenticeship is available in several of our schools : ESA, ISARA-Lyon.
