STUDENT LIFE

Training for Group School of Life

The holding of positions of responsibility within student associations and groups contributes to the overall education.

The trainee-engineer learns in lecture halls, in companies during internships, but also through student associations: these bring dynamic energy to school life and are tangible signs of the good collaborative atmosphere that exists in the schools.

Student opinions :

I learned about negotiation, management and accounting and improved in two areas: peer relationships and overall appreciation of a situation.

A unique “people” experience as well as communication and organization which I still benefit from today.

To head an association broadened my outlook on the school and its mission and encouraged me to become more turned towards others.

I was able to develop my sense of initiative and became more open-minded….I learned that one must give oneself the human means to bring a project to fruition.

The main things I learned? How to listen and to delegate.

Some of the present associations

Other than the traditional associations (students association, sports associations and Junior Enterprise) each school has about 10 other associations such as :

  • Gedam (Student Group for Global Agricultural Development )

This association has had projects in Armenia , Romania , in Africa and Vietnam and awareness has been increased regarding sustainable development, Fair Trade, the fight against exclusion and poverty.

  • La Vinothèque (Wine Club)

With the help of the viticulture-oenology professors, it organizes wine tastings (choice of them, wine research) and other events (lectures, exhibits…)

  • The Ovalies Tournament

They organize a yearly European University Rugby Tournament to sponsor humanitarian causes. It includes 60 teams, 1200 members, 119 matches on 9 fields, 50 organizers and 80 partners, 2 themed parties, 100 children exposed to rugby. Funds raised are given to Doctors without Borders .
